Akhilesh Yadav Condemns Demotion of Employee After Offering Prasad
Controversy Surrounds Employee Demotion
Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party, has criticized the demotion of an employee who offered prasad during a community feast on Ambedkar Jayanti last month, labeling the action as orchestrated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
During a press conference at the Samajwadi Party headquarters, a woman named Anjali Massey claimed that her father, Umesh Kumar, who worked as a supervisor for the Cantonment Board, presented prasad to Yadav on April 14, the day of the celebration.
Anjali alleged that following this incident, her father was demoted from his supervisory role to that of a sanitation worker.
In response to inquiries about the situation, Yadav described the demotion as 'unfortunate' and stated that he had attended the community feast without prior knowledge of Anjali.
He accused the BJP of being behind the decision to demote the employee and assured that he would discuss the matter with higher authorities.
Allegations of Misconduct
Anjali Massey expressed her intention to expose the BJP's misconduct during the press conference.
Umesh Kumar had organized the community feast on April 14 and sent invitations to senior officials.
However, officials claimed that Kumar violated service conduct rules by sending invitations directly to senior officials without informing the board.
A senior official clarified, 'The action was not taken because Umesh offered prasad to Akhilesh Yadav, but rather due to his breach of service conduct rules by bypassing the board.'
