Ajay Rai's Health Declines Suddenly in Lucknow, PM Modi Wishes for Quick Recovery
Ajay Rai's Health Emergency in Lucknow
On Friday afternoon, Ajay Rai, the president of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, experienced a sudden health crisis in Lucknow. He was quickly admitted to Medanta Hospital for treatment. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his wishes for Rai's swift recovery.
In a post on X, PM Modi stated that he received news about Ajay Rai's illness and wished for his speedy recovery. Ajay Rai has contested against PM Modi in the last three general elections—2014, 2019, and 2024—representing Congress from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat but has not secured a victory.
The incident occurred during an event at the Congress headquarters, where Rai felt severe chest pain and anxiety, leading to him fainting. He was promptly taken to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow, where he is currently under intensive medical supervision. The event was organized to celebrate Labor Day and Buddha Purnima, featuring a conference for teachers and doctors.
Several prominent Congress leaders, including national spokesperson Supriya Srinet and UP in-charge Avinash Pandey, were present at the event. Eyewitnesses reported that after dropping Avinash Pandey at the airport, Ajay Rai returned to the office when he suddenly felt discomfort in his chest. He informed his colleagues that he was feeling anxious and requested to be taken home. However, his condition worsened en route, leading to him losing consciousness before being admitted to the emergency room at Medanta Hospital.
