Ajay Rai Denies Allegations Following Controversial Video on PM Modi

Ajay Rai, the President of the Uttar Pradesh Congress, has dismissed allegations of making derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which arose from an AI-generated video circulating on social media. This controversy emerged after an FIR was filed against Rai under various sections of the BNS Act in Mahoba district. Authorities took action following the release of a video on May 22, showing Rai leading a gathering that allegedly obstructed government operations and blocked a public road.

 

Assistant Superintendent of Police Vandana Singh stated that on May 22, they received a video via social media depicting Congress state president Ajay Rai illegally assembling with supporters, disrupting government functions, and blocking a public road. She further mentioned that Rai also made offensive comments about the Prime Minister. A complaint was lodged at the Mahoba Kotwali police station, leading to the registration of an FIR under multiple sections. Investigations are underway.

 

The FIR was filed following a formal complaint by lawyer Neeraj Rawat, who criticized the political rhetoric adopted by Congress leaders. The complaint named 25 to 30 supporters, including the outgoing secretary of the Congress Committee, Brijraj Ahirwar. In response to the allegations, Rai asserted that justice must be served for a Dalit girl from Mahoba. He challenged the authorities, stating that they could file not just ten but a hundred cases against him, emphasizing that they would not back down. Rai claimed that the video was artificially created and mentioned that their workers would also file complaints. He also alleged that a Dalit girl in Mahoba was raped and demanded justice.
