The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Assam elections. The party has named candidates for 12 assembly seats across the state. Notably, party leader Badruddin Ajmal will contest from the Binakandi assembly constituency. With this announcement, AIUDF has now declared a total of 21 candidates for the 126-member assembly elections scheduled for April 9. Previously, the party had unveiled its first list of nine candidates on March 9.
In the second list of candidates, AIUDF has included three sitting MLAs. According to the list, Hafiz Bashir Ahmed will contest from Golpara East, Nazrul Haque from Dhubri, and Ashraful Hussain from Chenga. Ajmal, a former MLA himself, will try his luck in the Binakandi constituency this election. The second list also features Majibur Rahman from Dalgaon, Abdul Aziz from Samaguri, Musukha Basumatari from Bijni, Mukut Das from Raha, and Anup Krishna Das Talukdar from Ram Krishna Nagar as party candidates.

AIUDF is not part of any opposition alliance, although the party had previously attempted to join the Congress-led coalition. Ajmal has stated that his party aims to contest 25-30 seats in the upcoming elections. Currently, AIUDF has 15 members in the assembly.
On Saturday (March 14), Congress also released its second list of 23 candidates, leaving 15 constituencies vacant for its alliance partners in the northeastern state, where assembly elections are set to take place in April. With this latest announcement, the party has now declared a total of 65 candidates for the 126-member Assam assembly. According to the list released by Congress General Secretary (Organization) K.C.
