Airport Check-In Chaos: System Outage Causes Flight Delays
System Outage Disrupts Airport Check-Ins
New Delhi: A significant system outage affected check-in processes at multiple airports on Wednesday morning, as reported by sources.
This disruption has led to delays for several flights.
A notification at Varanasi airport indicated, “Microsoft Windows is experiencing major service outages worldwide, impacting IT services and check-in systems at airports.”
In response, airlines have resorted to manual check-in and boarding procedures.
The outage has impacted at least four airlines: IndiGo, SpiceJet, Akasa Air, and Air India Express.
As of now, there has been no official statement from Microsoft or the affected airlines.
DIAL noted on X at 7:40 am that, “Some domestic airlines are facing operational difficulties, which may result in delays or scheduling issues.”
Efforts are underway by on-ground teams to collaborate with all parties involved to maintain a smooth passenger experience.
Further specifics regarding the situation remain unclear.
