Ahmedabad, June 12: Air India's Flight AI171, which was en route to London, tragically crashed close to Ahmedabad airport on Thursday, as confirmed by the airline.


The airline stated, “Flight AI171, which was operating from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, encountered an incident today, June 12, 2025. We are currently gathering more information regarding the situation.”


Authorities have not yet provided any official updates concerning the number of casualties or the cause of the crash.


Images from the crash site depict a significant cloud of grey smoke billowing into the air. Emergency services dispatched at least two dozen ambulances to the scene for rescue operations. Several injured individuals have been transported to a nearby medical facility.
