Air India Updates International Flight Schedule Amid High Demand
Air India and Air India Express Announce New Flight Schedule
On Friday, March 27, Air India and its subsidiary, Air India Express, released an updated international flight schedule confirming 22 scheduled and non-scheduled flights between India and key destinations in West Asia. The airlines indicated that the revised plan reflects current travel patterns and operational needs in the region. According to the announcement, Air India will operate four scheduled flights to and from Jeddah, including two flights each from Delhi and Mumbai. Additionally, two more scheduled flights will be available on the Mumbai-Riyadh route. The statement also mentioned that Air India Express will enhance these routes with four flights each to and from Muscat and Riyadh, with flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Muscat and from Bengaluru and Kozhikode to Riyadh.
Additional Services to UAE to Manage Passenger Demand
Both airlines will also operate eight irregular flights to and from the United Arab Emirates, based on available slots at airports and current ground conditions. The purpose of these additional flights is to manage the high demand from passengers and ensure greater capacity. The press release included a comprehensive list of scheduled, irregular, and temporarily suspended services for that day. Regular flights will continue on routes such as Jeddah, Riyadh, and Muscat, while only irregular flights will operate at some UAE airports, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Passenger Support Measures and Flexible Rebooking Options
Reaffirming its commitment to passengers, Air India stated that travelers who have booked flights on routes where the airline's scheduled services are temporarily suspended can easily rebook for a future date without incurring additional fees or opt for a full refund. Changes can be made through the passenger website or the 24x7 customer service team. Passengers booking with Air India Express from UAE airports will also have flexible rebooking options. The airline mentioned that it is exploring the possibility of additional ad-hoc flights in West Asia to maintain necessary contact and meet passenger needs.
