Air India Flight AI111 Returns Mid-Flight

On March 26, an Air India flight traveling from Delhi to London Heathrow was compelled to turn back to the capital after a potential technical issue was identified during the flight.

The flight, designated AI111, departed from Delhi around 6 AM and was airborne for nearly seven hours before safely landing back at approximately 12:30 PM.

An Air India representative stated that the aircraft returned as a precautionary measure after a suspected technical problem arose during the flight. The airline emphasized that passenger safety was the foremost concern in making this decision.

The spokesperson assured that the aircraft landed safely, adhering to the airline's stringent safety protocols.

Currently, the plane is undergoing thorough technical evaluations, which are anticipated to take some time before any further actions are determined.

Air India has also expressed its apologies for the disruption caused to passengers due to this unforeseen incident.

The airline is actively working to facilitate the affected passengers' travel to London as soon as possible.

Details regarding the specific nature of the technical issue are still pending as inspections are ongoing.

In a related incident, just last week, another Air India flight from Delhi to Vancouver had to return after nine hours in the air because the Boeing 777 aircraft used for the journey lacked the necessary clearance from Canadian aviation authorities.

The flight, AI185, took off from Delhi at 12:18 PM on March 20 with a full passenger load, despite Air India only having approval for its Boeing 777-300ER models on that route.
