Flight Diversion Due to Weather Conditions

On Tuesday, an Air India flight traveling from Indonesia to Delhi was redirected to Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi due to adverse weather conditions in the national capital. An airport official confirmed this information on Wednesday, stating that the flight later departed for Delhi that same night.

Puneet Gupta, the director of Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, explained that the flight AI 2146 had to be diverted because visibility in Delhi had significantly decreased, making it unsafe for the aircraft to land.

Gupta noted that the aircraft, carrying 187 passengers, landed safely at Varanasi Airport. He assured that all necessary passenger amenities were provided during the delay. The flight was cleared for takeoff and successfully departed for Delhi later that night.
