Tragic Incident Involving Air India Flight

An Air India aircraft bound for London met with a tragic accident just five minutes after departing from Ahmedabad Airport. A video has surfaced showing the plane swaying in the sky due to engine failure before descending rapidly. The tail section struck the ground, igniting the aircraft with a loud explosion. The area was soon engulfed in flames and smoke, with debris from the plane scattered around.

Reports indicate that the flight, identified as AI171, took off and reached an altitude of only 625 feet before losing data connection with air traffic control, suggesting that the crash occurred shortly thereafter.

Emergency Call Made by Pilots

Following the unfortunate incident, a significant revelation from the DGCA report highlighted that the pilots issued a 'Mayday' call immediately after takeoff. The crash occurred in the Meghani Nagar area of Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon, involving 242 individuals, including 10 crew members. There are concerns regarding potential casualties.

Air India has confirmed that the flight carried 169 Indian citizens, 53 British nationals, one Canadian, and seven Portuguese passengers. Updates regarding the passenger list are ongoing, with some media outlets initially reporting that former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was on board, which was later clarified as incorrect.
