AIFF Takes Legal Action for ISL Clarity
In a significant move, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has turned to the Supreme Court to address the pressing uncertainties surrounding the Indian Super League (ISL), the premier football league in India. This action was prompted by discussions that took place on Monday, where the Amicus Curiae brought the matter to the Court's attention.
During the proceedings, the AIFF's senior counsel highlighted the recent passage of the National Sports Governance Bill 2025 by both Houses of Parliament, emphasizing its relevance to the ongoing legal discussions. The Court has instructed all involved parties to submit written statements ahead of the next hearing set for August 22.
The AIFF expressed its intention to leverage this opportunity to stress the critical need for commercial stability and to outline the future framework of the ISL, considering the welfare of players, clubs, and other stakeholders who are currently affected by the ongoing stalemate.

They reached a consensus to present the concerns of ISL clubs about the delayed start and the challenges faced by players and other stakeholders to the Supreme Court next week.
