AIADMK's Call for Change in Tamil Nadu

Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the General Secretary of AIADMK, criticized Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on April 8, urging voters to remove the DMK government in the upcoming assembly elections. Speaking at an election rally in Velachery, Chennai, Palaniswami highlighted the deteriorating law and order situation across Tamil Nadu, particularly in Chennai, and the government's failure to ensure women's safety.

Palaniswami emphasized that this election is crucial for ousting M.K. Stalin from power. He pointed out that law enforcement has significantly declined during the DMK's five-year tenure. He expressed concern for the safety of young girls and elderly women in Tamil Nadu, stating that during AIADMK's governance, law and order were maintained effectively. He questioned the DMK's actions over the past five years, noting that despite promises of improved drainage systems, areas like Velachery still face flooding after minimal rainfall. He also accused DMK members of dining in hotels without paying, while traders and shopkeepers live in fear. Palaniswami assured that an AIADMK government would rectify these issues.

Furthermore, Palaniswami alleged that the sale of cannabis would continue under M.K. Stalin's administration, promising to eradicate this problem if AIADMK returns to power. He described the DMK government as 'family-centric' and asserted that previous AIADMK administrations effectively served the poor and marginalized. He urged the public to vote wisely for the AIADMK-led NDA coalition, claiming that cannabis sales would not cease as long as the DMK remains in power. He vowed to completely eliminate cannabis from Tamil Nadu under AIADMK leadership, labeling the current government as family-driven.

Palaniswami clearly stated that only four members of the Stalin family are running the government. He reiterated that AIADMK is a party dedicated to the welfare of the poor and disadvantaged. He called upon voters to support AIADMK candidate Ashok and choose the 'Two Leaves' symbol in Velachery to restore good governance in Tamil Nadu.
