AIADMK's Election Commitments for 2026

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has revealed five key electoral promises for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in 2026. The party announced plans to increase the social security pension for senior citizens, widows, elderly unmarried women, abandoned wives, persons with disabilities, and transgender individuals from ₹1,200 to ₹2,000.

In a move aimed at supporting students and their families, the government will forgive education loans taken from banks.

As part of livelihood assistance, the party pledged to provide three free LPG cylinders annually to rice ration card holders. Additionally, AIADMK expressed its commitment to traditional Tamil sports, particularly Jallikattu. It was announced that in the event of a participant's death while controlling bulls, the victim's family would receive ₹10 lakh, and ₹2 lakh would be provided for injuries.

The government will allocate ₹5 lakh as a subsidy for the enthusiastic organization of Jallikattu competitions at approved locations. The current online registration system for these events will be abolished, reverting to the previous manual process. Furthermore, interest-free loans will be made available to women from Islamic, Christian, and other minority communities to help them start self-employment ventures. Loans taken by persons with disabilities from cooperative banks will also be waived.

Commenting on the current situation in Tamil Nadu, AIADMK leaders stated that the state is "bowed in shame," alleging that not a single day passes without incidents of sexual violence. They further claimed that the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance is a robust coalition, asserting that it is the only powerful alliance in Tamil Nadu. AIADMK leaders expressed confidence in the party's historic victory in the upcoming assembly elections. Regarding actor-politician Vijay, they remarked that he would only understand the real political landscape by participating in press conferences.
