AIADMK's Optimism for Upcoming Elections

On Monday, AIADMK spokesperson K. Satyam expressed strong confidence in the NDA's success in the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly elections, predicting that the alliance will secure 210 out of 234 seats. He asserted that Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) will emerge as the next Chief Minister. Speaking to a news outlet, Satyam claimed that the ruling DMK lacks public support, noting that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin's convoy travels through deserted streets. He stated that the public has rejected the DMK's legislators, emphasizing that their convoy is often seen on empty roads, urging Stalin to confront reality. Within a month, EPS will take over as Chief Minister, and the AIADMK will form a government by winning a significant majority.

Stalin's Counterclaims

Stalin's remarks came after he claimed that the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance would win all 234 seats in the state elections. During a press conference on Sunday, he criticized the three-language policy, asserting that the DMK would not allow its implementation in Tamil Nadu. He expressed confidence in their chances of victory, stating, 'We will win all 234 seats.'

In a social media post, Stalin harshly criticized the BJP-led central government on various issues, including minority rights, federal fund allocation, and the proposed three-language policy, arguing that these measures harm the state and its citizens. He questioned whether BJP ministers and the Chief Minister would address these concerns while campaigning in Tamil Nadu, asking, 'Will you promote the implementation of the three-language policy here? How much funding has been allocated to Tamil Nadu? How much has been given to BJP-ruled 'favored' states? Are you willing to disclose this transparently?'

Concerns Over FCRA Amendment

Stalin also condemned the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, claiming it disproportionately targets minority communities, particularly Christian institutions. He questioned whether the government would fully withdraw the FCRA amendment that attacks Christian NGOs or push it through next week. Additionally, he raised concerns about EPS's role, asking if he would receive answers to these pressing questions from his Delhi-based leaders. He urged them to stop making baseless accusations and start addressing issues related to people's rights. No matter how many attempts are made from Delhi to divide Tamil Nadu, the state will not yield.
