AIADMK's Allegations Against DMK

The General Secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), Edappadi Palaniswami, has leveled serious accusations against the ruling DMK, claiming that the party has engaged in extensive corruption amounting to ₹4 lakh crore across various departments in Tamil Nadu over the past four and a half years. He has submitted evidence to the Governor, citing failures in governance and deteriorating law and order, and has called for an investigation led by a retired Supreme Court judge.


 


AIADMK's Call for Investigation


During a press conference, Palaniswami stated that besides being embroiled in corruption, the DMK has failed to deliver any benefits to the people of Tamil Nadu. He emphasized that the party has perpetrated large-scale corruption in multiple government departments and has provided the Governor with detailed complaints supported by evidence. He expressed concerns over the ineffective governance and the worsening law and order situation, asserting that corruption has reached ₹4 lakh crore across various sectors.


 


Palaniswami has insisted on an independent investigation into these allegations, stating that a high-level judicial inquiry is essential. He urged the formation of a commission to investigate the corruption claims against the DMK, requesting that the inquiry be conducted under the leadership of a retired judge from the Supreme Court. Referring to his meeting with Governor R.N. Ravi, the AIADMK leader mentioned that the party has submitted comprehensive complaints against the DMK government.


 


Details of Corruption Cases Presented


Following his discussion with Governor R.N. Ravi, Palaniswami revealed that they provided a list of corruption cases that have emerged since 2021 during the DMK's tenure. He presented details of the losses and damages incurred in various departments due to the corrupt administration over the past four and a half years. With substantial evidence at hand, he has called for a thorough investigation, asserting that the DMK operates like a corporate entity.
