Political Shake-Up in Dhubri District

Dhubri, Dec 26: As political activities ramp up in anticipation of the upcoming Assam Legislative Assembly elections, a notable shift has occurred in Dhubri district with the resignation of a key figure from the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP).

Amitabh Acharyya, commonly referred to as Sajal, has stepped down from his role as the finance secretary for the AGP's Dhubri district unit and has also given up his primary membership in the party. On Wednesday, Acharyya confirmed that he has officially submitted his resignation to the president of the AGP's Dhubri district committee.

In addition to his district responsibilities, Acharyya has also vacated his position as vice president of the AGP's Dhubri Legislative Assembly Constituency committee.

This resignation from the prominent AGP leader comes at a crucial time when various political parties in Dhubri district are gearing up for the Assembly elections. However, Acharyya has yet to disclose his future political intentions or which party he might align with next.

Previously, on December 11, another senior AGP member, Ashok Kumar Roy Pradhani, who led the party's Golakganj LAC unit, also resigned from his primary membership. He sent his resignation letter directly to AGP President Atul Bora.
