Advocate Vasu Ranjan Joins Congress

On Tuesday, Advocate Vasu Ranjan, a lawyer at the Supreme Court and Punjab and Haryana High Court, officially joined the Indian National Congress. He took his primary membership in the presence of Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee and MP from Ludhiana. Raja Warring welcomed Ranjan with a ceremonial scarf, expressing gratitude for his trust in the Congress party.


Commitment to Strengthen Congress in Punjab

Following his induction into the party, Advocate Vasu Ranjan stated his commitment to fortifying the Congress presence across Punjab and disseminating its policies and ideology to every household. He announced plans to launch a special campaign aimed at engaging the youth and pledged to work diligently towards establishing a Congress government in Punjab by 2027. Ranjan also expressed his intention to meet with Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, to discuss strategies for strengthening the party in the state.


Promoting Congress Ideology

Advocate Ranjan emphasized his goal of promoting the Congress ideology and vision among the public, highlighting the sacrifices made by former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, as well as former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, for national unity and integrity. He underscored that fulfilling Rahul Gandhi's mission of uniting the nation and eliminating hatred would be his primary objective.


Advocacy for Public Issues

Historically, Advocate Vasu Ranjan has raised significant public interest issues, including advocating for the opening of the Shambhu border, opposing the Punjab government's fee of ₹80 for downloading FIRs, and demanding compensation for farmers affected by floods. He has approached the High Court regarding these matters and has consistently supported the poor and marginalized through the lawyers' council.
