Aditya Thackeray Criticizes Rebel MPs for Prioritizing Personal Gain Over Political Ideals

Aditya Thackeray, a prominent figure in Shiv Sena (UBT), has publicly criticized rebel MPs for prioritizing personal interests over their political commitments. He accused them of abandoning the ideologies they were elected to represent, particularly in light of recent political shifts within the party. Thackeray's remarks come amid ongoing tensions and allegations of misuse of public funds by the government. He emphasized the need for accountability among these MPs, who he claims have betrayed their voters. The situation escalated with the issuance of show-cause notices to absent MPs, warning them of potential disqualification under anti-defection laws. This unfolding drama raises significant questions about loyalty and integrity in politics.

Thackeray's Strong Words Against Rebel MPs

Aditya Thackeray, a legislator from Shiv Sena (UBT), expressed his discontent on Monday regarding the party's rebel MPs, accusing them of valuing personal interests over their political commitments. In a post on X, he remarked that these MPs, elected with the support of Congress and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), have abandoned the ideologies they were meant to represent.

In light of the ongoing political turmoil within Shiv Sena (UBT) and reports of several MPs joining the faction led by Eknath Shinde under the so-called Operation Tiger, Thackeray stated that the actions of these rebel MPs indicate that their loyalty and integrity are for sale. He also accused the government of misusing public funds for political purposes. He emphasized that the actions of these greedy MPs, who are switching parties, further prove two points: 1) Their loyalty and credibility are shamelessly up for sale, and 2) The government is biased and uses public money as political funding.

Thackeray claimed that voters in the constituencies of these MPs specifically voted against NDA candidates and their ideologies, which these MPs have now forsaken out of greed. He added that those currently switching sides were elected from the MVA and INDIA platforms against the NDA. Leaders from Shiv Sena UBT, Congress, and NCP campaigned for them, urging all party and coalition leaders to hold rallies. They cannot even claim that they have ‘separated from one and allied with another’ or similar excuses. Voters in their constituencies supported INDIA against NDA candidates, voting for the values that INDIA represents. It is clear that their greed has forced them to abandon these principles overnight, without any shame.

Additionally, on Saturday, Shiv Sena (UBT) issued show-cause notices to the absent MPs, warning them of disqualification under the anti-defection law. This notice, sent by the party's chief whip Anil Desai in the Lok Sabha, instructed the MPs to provide a written explanation for their absence from an important parliamentary meeting within 24 hours.
