ABVP Marks 78th Foundation Day with Cultural Festivities and Social Initiatives

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) commemorated its 78th Foundation Day and National Students’ Day with a vibrant district-level celebration at the auditorium of Government College Dharamshala.
Shri Umesh Dutt served as the Chief Guest, while Shri Sunil Manocha took on the role of Chairperson. During his speech, Manocha reflected on the ABVP's historical journey, its significant contributions to nation-building, and encouraged the youth to stay dedicated to social service and the interests of the nation.
The event showcased lively cultural performances, including traditional Punjabi and Gaddi dances, along with enchanting musical acts that captivated the audience. Numerous students actively participated in the festivities. Additionally, ABVP Kangra organized a blood donation camp as part of its commitment to social responsibility, where students, educators, local youth, and workers volunteered to donate blood.
The District Kangra Swami Vivekananda General Knowledge Competition was also conducted, with the following winners:
- 1st Place: Vatsal Raj (Green Field Sr. Sec. School, Nagrota)
- 2nd Place: Arushi Sharma (PM Shri Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Dharamshala)
- 3rd Place: Sukriti Jaryal (DAV Public School, Narwana) All winners received prizes and certificates.
District Convener Ayush Chaudhary addressed the attendees, highlighting ABVP’s 77-year legacy of fostering knowledge, character, and unity. He emphasized that empowered students are essential for a robust India, noting that thousands of ABVP volunteers nationwide are dedicated to student welfare, societal progress, and national reconstruction.
