ABSU Leadership and Future Plans


Kokrajhar, June 3: Dipen Boro and Khanindra Basumatary have been re-elected as President and General Secretary of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) during a recent meeting held at the Jwhwlao Nileswar Brahma Auditorium, Bodoland University, Kokrajhar.


The assembly saw enthusiastic participation from ABSU delegates, senior leaders, and student representatives. Key discussions revolved around reinforcing the union's enduring commitments, such as the effective execution of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Accord, educational advancements through the 'Mission Quality Education' initiative, socio-economic development of the Bodo community, and the safeguarding of Bodo language, literature, and culture.


A significant announcement was made by Dipen Boro, who introduced plans for a week-long 'Bodofa Camp' designed to cultivate a disciplined and ideologically robust youth force within the organization.


“We are establishing a new committee that will comprise both seasoned members and young students, many of whom are affiliated with Bodoland University and Delhi. Our aim is to harness their enthusiasm to fortify ABSU and serve our community. The Bodofa Camp will focus on enhancing the physical and mental health of our members, instilling values, discipline, and the foundational principles of ABSU. Our priority will be on character development and shared responsibility,” Boro stated.


He also highlighted that the union's efforts must prioritize the welfare of the Bodo tribe, followed by the organization and its members. “We will align our objectives with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, particularly regarding educational reforms and youth empowerment,” he added.


Boro reiterated that the Union will maintain its grassroots engagement to tackle the challenges faced by the Bodo people and urged collective commitment to ABSU's mission. The Bodofa Camp is anticipated to be a pivotal initiative to revitalize the union's foundation and enhance its influence among the youth.
