Abhishek Banerjee Challenges Critics After Meeting Lok Sabha Speaker
Abhishek Banerjee's Bold Statement
After his meeting with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee expressed that any MP who finds his statements objectionable should take legal action against him. He asserted his confidence in proving his case in court. Banerjee criticized those who intimidate and lure people with money, stating they are betraying the trust of the electorate. He emphasized that victories and defeats are part of politics, but those who refuse to fight against the BJP and choose to align with them are not welcome in Bengal.
CPI Leader Comments on TMC's Crisis
Following Banerjee's meeting, CPI's National General Secretary D. Raja remarked that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is facing a significant crisis, which is not merely political but also organizational. Reports indicate a split within the party, and it remains to be seen which faction will gain recognition. Raja stressed that decisions regarding these issues should adhere to parliamentary traditions and anti-defection laws, urging patience to observe the developments. He noted that parties like TMC often encounter severe challenges after elections and defeats.
Kunal Ghosh's Remarks on Rebel MPs
On Friday, TMC MLA Kunal Ghosh targeted the party's rebel MPs, insisting that those planning to join the NDA should resign from Parliament first. He highlighted the internal turmoil caused by factionalism and attempts at mergers within the party. Speaking to the media, Ghosh stated that they have no comments regarding party funds, as they are not involved with the funding department. He pointed out that the voters who supported the anti-BJP stance in the 2024 elections are now disconnected from the party's current situation. Ghosh further accused the rebel MPs attempting to align with the NDA of needing to resign from both the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha.
