After an impressive Player of the Match display, Lucknow Falcons' fast bowler Abhinandan Singh discussed the significant influence his Indian Premier League (IPL) experience has had on his career. He played a pivotal role in the Falcons' exciting three-wicket win in Match 6 of the UPT20 League Season 4 on Monday, achieving remarkable bowling figures of 4/30.

Growth Through RCB

Abhinandan attributed his recent development to the high-caliber environment at Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Joining RCB before the 2025 season, he became part of a remarkable team that secured consecutive IPL championships in 2025 and 2026, leading to his eagerly awaited tournament debut in the 2026 season.

Influence of Virat Kohli

The young bowler emphasized the impact of sharing a dressing room with cricket legends, particularly Virat Kohli. "Virat bhaiya inspired me greatly, especially in our discussions about improving my game," Abhinandan noted. He acknowledged the support from coaches during this period, which helped him return to the 16-member squad, enhancing his overall experience. "Much of my current game understanding and discipline stems from my IPL journey," he added.

Learning from the Best

In addition to Kohli, Abhinandan's time at RCB allowed him to learn from top international fast bowlers like Josh Hazlewood. He also had the chance to bowl alongside experienced Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, a partnership that has continued in the UP T20 League, where Abhinandan is flourishing under Bhuvneshwar's leadership with the Lucknow Falcons.

Reflecting on his recent journey and mindset for the game, he stated, "I am pleased with my performance today. Considering the past three seasons... I faced injuries last year, played in the IPL this year, and now I'm here. This time, I prepared well and aimed to keep things straightforward."
