Arvind Kejriwal Highlights AAP's Success in Punjab Elections

On Thursday, Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), stated that the impressive results of the district council and panchayat committee elections in Punjab indicate that the rural populace has endorsed the initiatives of the Bhagwant Mann-led government. Kejriwal remarked, "The AAP has secured nearly 70 percent of the seats in these elections."

He emphasized, "This is a significant achievement. It demonstrates that the people in rural areas have validated the work done by the AAP government under Bhagwant Mann's leadership." The party leader noted that these elections took place almost a year ahead of the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections in 2027.

Kejriwal also mentioned that the elections for the district councils and panchayat committees were conducted in a free and fair manner, with video documentation of the voting and counting processes.

He pointed out that out of the total seats, there were 580 where the victory margin was less than 100 votes; AAP won 261 of these, while the opposition claimed victory in 319 seats. This outcome further underscores the fairness of the elections.
