AAP's Victory in Ramdas Municipal Elections

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal credited the party's performance in the Ramdas municipal elections on Friday to the developmental efforts of the Punjab government and the ideology of AAP's national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal. Speaking to a news media outlet about the election results, Dhaliwal alleged that opposition parties had formed an alliance against AAP during the elections. He stated that three parties—namely the Akali Dal, BJP, and Congress—were collaborating against them. He accused them of making false allegations, but emphasized that the visible work and development initiatives have been recognized by the public, who appreciated the progress made by Bhagwant Mann. The citizens of Ramdas have shown their support for Arvind Kejriwal's ideology.


Election Results and Security Measures

Meanwhile, SDM Charumita announced that the results from all 11 booths in Ramdas have been declared. She noted that the candidate from the Shiromani Akali Dal won only at booth number 8, while AAP candidates secured victories at the remaining booths. The results for the 11 booths in Ramdas have been released, with the Akali Dal candidate winning solely at booth number 8, while AAP candidates triumphed in all other booths. Earlier in the day, the counting for the Punjab municipal elections commenced at various counting centers across the state. Extensive security arrangements and a strong police presence were implemented to ensure that the voting process remained peaceful and orderly.


Voting Overview

Voting for 75 municipal councils and 20 municipal committees across Punjab took place on May 26. A total of 7,555 candidates contested for various municipal corporations, councils, and committees in the state.
