AAP Intensifies Criticism of BJP Over Alleged Insult to Sikh Gurus

AAP's Response to Allegations Against Minister Atishi

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) escalated its criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday, demanding an apology from BJP leader Kapil Mishra regarding the alleged disrespect towards Sikh Gurus by Delhi Minister Atishi. During a press conference, AAP spokesperson Anurag Dhanda highlighted that a forensic report submitted in a Jalandhar court did not mention the term 'Guru' in Atishi's statements. He asserted that the Delhi Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report also failed to reference this term, arguing that it indicates Atishi did not use the word.

Dhanda emphasized that the FSL report presented in Jalandhar clearly states that Atishi did not employ the term 'Guru', and even the Delhi FSL report lacks any mention of it.

Dhanda accused Kapil Mishra of blasphemy and called for his dismissal. He urged Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta to make the FSL report public, questioning why it was sent to the privileges committee despite a prior press conference on the matter. He stated, 'What is the point of keeping it confidential after holding a press conference?'

In response to Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva's denial, Dhanda referenced a court order from Jalandhar that mentioned Mishra's tweet, noting that the court found the content could hurt religious sentiments, necessitating its removal. He accused the BJP of disregarding court orders.

AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj has given Kapil Mishra two days to apologize at Darbar Sahib. Regarding the Delhi Speaker's request for a CBI investigation into the Punjab police inquiry, Bhardwaj stated that the party has no objections to a CBI or even an NIA investigation, asserting that any inquiry would confirm that Atishi did not use the term 'Guru'. The political clash between AAP and BJP has intensified over the alleged insult to Sikh Gurus, with both sides trading accusations.
