AAP Criticizes PM Modi's Punjab Visit for Ignoring Key Issues
AAP's Strong Critique of PM Modi's Punjab Tour
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched a fierce critique against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. The party accused him of failing to address critical issues during his visit to Punjab. According to AAP, instead of meeting the public's expectations, the Prime Minister focused solely on unfounded allegations against the state government.
Baltej Pannu, the media in-charge for AAP's Punjab unit, questioned the Prime Minister's silence in a video statement. He expressed that the people of Punjab had hoped for clarity on pressing matters such as the deaths of farmers during the protests, the long-standing demand for legal guarantees on the Minimum Support Price (MSP), and the withheld funds from the central government. However, Modi did not provide any responses on these significant topics.
Pannu also targeted the BJP's slogan of a 'double-engine government,' reminding that Punjab had already experienced the BJP-Shiromani Akali Dal coalition government from 2007 to 2017. He claimed that the residents of Punjab are still suffering from the adverse policies of that era.
The AAP leader further alleged that the drug problem and gangster culture in Punjab were exacerbated during the BJP-Akali Dal rule. Pannu emphasized that the people of Punjab have not forgotten the troubles from that previous period.
