Aamir Hamza, Notorious Terrorist, Shot in Lahore
Attack on Aamir Hamza in Lahore
Islamabad: Aamir Hamza, a prominent member of Lashkar-e-Taiba, has been the target of a deadly attack in Pakistan. He was shot by unidentified gunmen in Lahore and has since been hospitalized. Reports indicate that his condition is critical.
The attack occurred outside the office of a news channel, where Hamza was reportedly hit by multiple bullets. Following the incident, he was rushed to a nearby hospital, but no official statement regarding his condition has been released yet.
Hamza is recognized as an experienced commander among Afghan Mujahideen. He is known not only for his combat experience but also for authoring several books. For a long time, he was considered close to Hafiz Saeed, the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba, where he was involved in fundraising, recruitment, and negotiations with other factions.
Despite claims that he has not been active in Lashkar for several years, Hamza distanced himself from the group after allegations of financial irregularities against Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation in 2018. Subsequently, he formed a separate faction called Jaish-e-Mankafa, although it is believed that he maintained contact with Saeed.
Hafiz Saeed is listed as a most-wanted terrorist in India, with Lashkar-e-Taiba being implicated in various terrorist attacks there. Aamir Hamza is also believed to be linked to several terrorist activities, including attacks in India. Following the attack on him, Pakistani authorities have remained silent.
