A Remarkable Wedding Ceremony

In this case, the groom's family did not demand any dowry; instead, the bride's in-laws gifted her a luxury car worth 11 lakh rupees. They expressed that they welcomed their daughter-in-law into their home as if she were their own daughter.

This heartwarming event took place in Buhana, a town in the Shekhawati region of Jhunjhunu district. The bride, who took seven vows in the village of Khandwa, received a car as a gift from her in-laws, while the wedding rituals involved only a symbolic one rupee and a coconut. This family, led by Ramkishan, a Sub-Inspector in the CRPF, has set a commendable example for society.
Ramveer, Ramkishan's only son, married Insha from Gohana village in Alwar. Insha is currently pursuing her second year of a Bachelor’s degree, while Ramveer is studying for his Master’s.
A Generous Gesture
During the wedding, Insha's parents offered a lavish send-off and even proposed to give dowry. However, Ramkishan firmly declined, stating that they were receiving a precious daughter and needed nothing else.
After the wedding, when Insha arrived at her new home, her in-laws presented her with the keys to the car during the customary 'muh dikhai' ceremony, which delighted her. They emphasized that they were bringing home a daughter, not just a daughter-in-law, and promised to treat her with love and care.

Insha expressed her gratitude for being welcomed into Ramkishan's family. The local MLA, Subhash Poonia, attended the wedding to congratulate the couple and highlighted the significance of Ramkishan's actions as a message to society. He stated that such gestures could help eradicate the dowry system, and when daughters-in-law are treated as daughters, positive changes will occur.
It is noteworthy that Jhunjhunu district is recognized for its commitment to girls' education, with many local daughters excelling academically and serving in the armed forces, holding significant positions.
