Mass Surrender of Maoists in Hyderabad

In a significant event today, approximately 47 Maoists, including several women from Chhattisgarh, surrendered in Hyderabad under the watch of Telangana police. These individuals, part of the South Bastar division from Chhattisgarh, presented themselves to DGP Shivadha Reddy. During the event, DGP Reddy revealed that the surrendering Maoists handed over 32 weapons to the authorities.


He announced that those who have surrendered will benefit from the central government's incentive programs, free health cards, and a rehabilitation package amounting to ₹1.20 crore.

DGP Reddy assured that the government would extend all possible support to individuals wishing to reintegrate into society after leaving the forest life. Later, DGP Reddy commended the dedication and coordinated efforts of the special intelligence branch police. He noted that since the beginning of 2026, a total of 260 underground Maoists have surrendered in Telangana. Furthermore, he mentioned that only four Maoist cadres remain active underground in Telangana and beyond.
