Indore to Host Environmental Dialogue Week
Indore is set to celebrate World Environment Day 2026 with the 34th Annual 'Environmental Dialogue Week', organized by the Jimmy and Janak Magilligan Foundation for Sustainable Development from May 30 to June 5, 2026. The primary goal of this week-long event is to raise awareness among youth and the general public about climate action and to encourage environmentally friendly practices for sustainable development.
This year's theme, 'Climate Action', as declared by UNEP, will focus on greening hills, tree planting, plant protection, and biodiversity conservation.

May 30: Inaugural Session - 'Climate Action to Save the Planet and People'
Chief Guest: Mr. P. N. Mishra, IFS, Chief Conservator, Indore Forest Division.
May 31: 'Climate Action for the Health of People and the Planet'
Chief Guest: Cardiologist Dr. Bharat Rawat.
June 1: 'Climate Action for Sustainable Livelihoods' (Raheja Solar Food Processing Campus)
Chief Guest: Dr. (Mrs.) Janak Palta Magilligan.
June 2: 'The Role of Nurses in Climate Action'
Chief Guest: Dr. Janak Palta Magilligan.
June 3: 'Collective Climate Action for Sustainable Community Development'
Chief Guest: Dr. Janak Palta Magilligan.
June 4: 'Climate Action for Clean Water and Air'
Experts: Geologist Sudhindra Mohan Sharma and Environmental Scientist Dr. Dilip Vaghela.
June 5: World Environment Day Celebration
Chief Guest: Dr. Yogesh Goswami, Vice-Chancellor, Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth University, Indore.
Special Guest: Dr. Ranjana Goswami, Professor, Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth University.
Students from various educational institutions, including St. Paul Institute, Intellect Academy, DAVV, and Shri Vaishnav Institute of Management, along with environmental enthusiasts from urban and rural areas, will actively participate in the event.
Dr. (Mrs.) Janak Palta Magilligan emphasized that this dialogue week will serve as a crucial platform for reinforcing commitments to climate action at both individual and collective levels.
Most sessions will take place at the Jimmy Magilligan Center for Sustainable Development.
