28 Young Women Injured in Bus Accident During Flag Rally in Jammu
Accident Details
On Sunday night in Jammu, a mini bus transporting participants of a flag rally overturned near a super specialty hospital, resulting in injuries to at least 28 young women. Officials confirmed the incident, stating that the women, aged between 18 and 25, were returning home after participating in a flag rally that spanned from Bahu Fort to Mubarak Mandi.
Injuries and Medical Response
The injured individuals were promptly admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital for treatment. These women were part of a project called Nari Veerangana, associated with certain non-governmental organizations linked to the BJP. Senior party leader and legislator Yudhvir Sethi visited the hospital alongside other BJP officials and reported that most of the injured were in stable condition.
Updates from the Hospital
Speaking to reporters at the hospital, Yudhvir Sethi indicated that many of the young women are expected to be discharged by Monday morning. However, he noted that two individuals sustained more serious injuries and will require further medical attention. The office of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed well wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured and instructed relevant authorities to ensure all necessary medical care and support.
