Maoists Surrender in Jharkhand

Ranchi: On Thursday, 27 members of the Maoist group surrendered to law enforcement officials, as confirmed by Jharkhand's Director General of Police, Tadasha Mishra.

These individuals, affiliated with the outlawed CPI (Maoist), voluntarily laid down their weapons in front of senior police personnel from various units, including the Jharkhand Police, Jharkhand Jaguar, and the CRPF.

The surrender occurred as part of 'Operation Navjeevan,' targeting Maoists wanted for numerous offenses. In 2026 alone, 22 Maoists were killed, 44 apprehended, and 29 surrendered, prompting officials to encourage the remaining members to reintegrate into society.

Mishra emphasized that the collaborative efforts of security forces to combat extremism will persist in the region, assuring that the 27 individuals who surrendered will receive comprehensive rehabilitation support.

CRPF Inspector General Saket Singh also urged those who have yet to surrender to abandon violence and seek a peaceful path back into the community.
