Arrest in Thane District Murder Case

A 25-year-old man has been taken into custody in Thane district for allegedly murdering his father-in-law. The police reported this development on Sunday.


According to a police official, the suspect, Rupesh Wagh, was apprehended on Saturday in the Mitpada area of Bhiwandi, where the incident occurred.


Senior Inspector Vilas Kadam stated that Wagh frequently quarreled with his father-in-law, Bua Konde (40), over domestic issues, including their shared drinking habits. During one such altercation on Saturday, Wagh struck Konde on the head with a large stone, resulting in his death.


Following the incident, the accused fled the scene. Neighbors alerted the Bhiwandi Taluka police about the occurrence. The police have sent the body for post-mortem examination at a government hospital and have initiated an investigation.
