2026 SJFI National Convention Set to Celebrate 50 Years of Sports Journalism in New Delhi

The Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) is gearing up for its National Convention 2026, scheduled to take place in New Delhi from March 13 to 16. This event marks a notable return to the capital after a 23-year hiatus. Organized by the Delhi Sports Journalist Association (DSJA), this convention will also commemorate the Golden Jubilee of SJFI, making it a landmark occasion in the federation's history.
A Gathering of Sports Journalists
SJFI is affiliated with the International Sports Press Association (AIPS), and this convention will unite sports journalists from various regions, including the North, East, West, and South Zones. It will also feature prominent figures from Indian sports, administration, and broadcasting. Supported by key industry stakeholders and leading brands, the 2026 edition is anticipated to be the largest and most influential in the federation's history.
Four-Day Event Schedule
The four-day event promises a blend of professional discussions, competitive sports, and networking opportunities. Highlights include:
1. A Grand Sports Conclave with top administrators and Olympic legends.
2. The JK Bose Inter-Zonal T20 Cricket Tournament.
3. The AC Bali Table Tennis Tournament.
4. Engaging family and youth activities like the Modern Pythian Games.
5. A grand Finals and Closing Ceremony featuring esteemed dignitaries.
Preparations Underway
Abhishek Tripathi, President of DSJA, expressed confidence in their preparations for the event. He stated, "The Delhi Sports Journalist Association is fully prepared for this event.
