A 12-year-old girl sustained injuries on Monday morning after being struck by an Army vehicle close to Dagwar Chowk. Eyewitness accounts indicate that Army convoys were traveling from Dharamshala to Gaggal when the incident took place.
The ongoing construction at the Dagwar Milk Plant has led to trucks and other vehicles being parked along the roadside, which has reduced the width of the passage. As the Army driver made a left turn at Dagwar Chowk, a parked taxi was hit, and the vehicle's tire ran over the foot of Sejal, resulting in her injury.
She was promptly taken to Tanda Hospital for medical attention. Local police arrived at the scene to assess the situation. The issue was amicably settled among the involved parties. The Army driver offered ₹10,000 to Sejal's family to cover her medical costs and promised additional assistance if required. Compensation was also provided to the taxi driver for the damages incurred, leading to no police report being filed.
In light of this incident, Dagwar Panchayat Pradhan Kuldeep Kumar and Up-Pradhan Rakesh Kumar have called on the administration to install speed bumps at critical locations along the Dagwar–Dharamshala road, highlighting the dangers posed by steep inclines and fast-moving vehicles.
