He also acknowledged his mother, Shabnam Singh, and his wife, Hazel Keech, tagging them in the post to highlight their significant influence in his life, both personally and professionally.
Yuvraj made his international cricket debut in 2000 and retired in 2019, having played 398 matches across all formats and scoring over 11,000 runs.
Throughout his impressive career spanning over 15 years, he set numerous records. One of his most memorable achievements was hitting six consecutive sixes off Stuart Broad in a single over during a T20 match. This remarkable feat took place on September 19, 2007, at Kingsmead, solidifying his legacy in cricket history.
During that match against England, Yuvraj scored his fifty in just 12 balls, a record that still stands as the fastest in T20 history. After India won the toss and chose to bat, Yuvraj entered the game following Robin Uthappa's dismissal, contributing significantly to India's total of 218 runs. India ultimately triumphed over England by 18 runs.
In the 19th over of India's innings, Yuvraj unleashed his power against Broad, hitting six sixes and pushing India's score past 200. This performance was crucial in helping India secure victory in the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, where Yuvraj played a pivotal role.
At 38, Yuvraj was also instrumental in India's 2011 World Cup victory, becoming the first all-rounder to score over 300 runs and take 15 wickets in a single World Cup. His outstanding performance earned him four Man of the Match awards and the title of Man of the Tournament for his 362 runs and 15 wickets.
In 2019, Yuvraj announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. With a career that included 304 ODIs, 58 T20Is, and 40 Tests, he established himself as a match-winner through his dynamic fielding, aggressive batting, and clever bowling.
