On June 15, former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh took to social media to honor his father, Yograj Singh, with a touching message in celebration of Father's Day.


In his Instagram story, Yuvraj expressed gratitude for the essential life lessons imparted by his father throughout his life.


He wrote, “Happy Father’s Day baapu! The one who taught me that the only finish line worth crossing is the one you reach by never giving up! Lots of love,” while tagging his father's official Instagram account, @yograjofficial.

Yograj Singh, a former cricketer himself, is recognized for his strict discipline and unwavering determination, traits that have clearly influenced Yuvraj's tenacity both on the cricket field and in life.


Yuvraj had an illustrious career, representing India in 402 international matches from 2000 to 2017, amassing 11,178 runs with an average of 35.05, including 17 centuries and 71 fifties. He was a key player in India's victories at the ICC Champions Trophy 2002 (joint-winners with Sri Lanka), the ICC T20 World Cup 2007, and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.


Notably, he was the first Indian cricketer to hit six consecutive sixes in an over during the 2007 T20 World Cup against England. His standout performance in the 2011 World Cup earned him the 'Player of the Tournament' title, where he scored 362 runs in nine matches, including a century and four half-centuries, while also taking 15 wickets.
