Yahhve Sharma: The Rising Star Embracing Her Unique Identity

A Name That Sparks Curiosity
Yahhve Sharma's name is not just distinctive; it serves as a conversation starter. Originally named Anjali Sharma, she decided to adopt a new name after receiving advice from her co-star Nawazuddin Siddiqui during the filming of Section 108. She realized that her previous name, Anjali, was quite common and lacked the ability to attract attention. The name Yahhve, which translates to the union of heaven and earth, has proven to be a pivotal choice for her. "Whenever I introduce myself, people are intrigued, and my unique name often leads to engaging discussions," she shares.
Gaining Recognition in the Industry
While the name change hasn't instantly catapulted her to stardom, it has certainly increased her visibility and brought her good fortune. Recently, she appeared in a significant role in Chall Kapat: The Deception, where she noted, "There is no star system on OTT platforms." Despite the show being led by Shriya Pilgaonkar, Yahhve emphasizes that every member of the cast receives appropriate recognition. She believes that audiences today prioritize quality content over star power, a sentiment echoed by the mixed reviews the series received. "Everyone has their own perspectives and preferences," she adds.
Learning from Industry Veterans
Collaborating with Shriya was enlightening for Yahhve, who admires her professionalism. "Shriya is incredibly focused during shoots, never distracted by her phone, and pays great attention to detail and continuity," she remarks. Working alongside Nawazuddin has also been invaluable; she describes him as humble and a master of improvisation. "The distinction between merely reciting lines and truly embodying a character is crucial in acting," she explains. Portraying the complex character Mallika in Section 108 has significantly enhanced her acting skills.
Diving into Diverse Roles
The murder thriller she stars in revolves around an insurance fraud case linked to a legal clause that declares a person missing for seven years as deceased. Although her character may be seen as an ambitious opportunist, Yahhve herself is not driven by fame or fortune. Her passion for acting ignited in childhood when she auditioned for Dance India Dance Little Masters, leading her to pursue acting seriously. She has trained under Saurabh Sachdeva and diction coach Ashish Pathode, who has helped her prepare for her role in Section 108.
Future Projects and Personal Growth
Currently, Yahhve is filming a Punjabi romantic comedy and is also set to appear in a Punjabi web series. Although she was born in Nagpur and raised in New Delhi, she is fluent in Punjabi and is actively working to improve her skills through daily conversations. Since her debut in Operation Mayfair in 2023, she has embraced a mindset of continuous learning, viewing life as her greatest teacher. As an outsider in the film industry, she acknowledges that rejection is part of the journey, stating, "I have faced replacement multiple times." However, her father's background in the Air Force has instilled in her a resilient spirit. "Though the destination is still far, I am determined to stay on course and am grateful to be on the right path," she concludes.
