World Padel League Set for Thrilling Return
Mumbai (Maharashtra) - The World Padel League (WPL), which made its successful debut in India earlier this year, is gearing up for its highly anticipated third season. Scheduled from August 12 to August 16 at the Nesco Centre in Mumbai, this season promises to deliver top-tier padel action, backed by the Indian Padel Federation.
This upcoming season will see the league expand from four to six franchises, welcoming two new teams. This growth reflects the increasing popularity of padel in India and the success WPL has achieved since its inception. Over the past year, participation in padel has more than doubled, along with significant advancements in infrastructure, highlighting the nation’s enthusiasm for the sport.
Following the thrilling conclusion of the previous season in February 2025, where 32 international athletes competed for the championship, the stage is set for an even more exhilarating third edition. Fans can look forward to five days filled with intense matches featuring some of the best global padel players, providing a fantastic opportunity for the Indian padel community.
Hemali Sharma, Co-Founder of the World Padel League, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming season, stating, “The evolution of padel in India has been remarkable. The previous edition, held at the Nesco Centre, provided thrilling matches and concluded with the SG Pipers Cheetahs claiming victory against the Vernost Jaguars in a nail-biting final. With the introduction of two new teams, Season 3 promises an exciting blend of elite sports and high-energy entertainment.
