Shifting the Focus on Men's Skincare

In Bollywood, discussions about skincare often center around female actresses. However, Vijay Varma took the opportunity of winning the Screen Stealer Award at the Femina Beauty Awards 2026 to shift the narrative towards men's skincare. In an interview with Telly Talk India, he shared that his skincare routine is intentionally minimal.

His daily regimen consists of four essential steps: applying an essence, moisturizer, sunscreen, and vitamin C. At night, he replaces the vitamin C serum with another product suggested by a friend, admitting he uses it regularly despite not fully understanding its benefits. When asked if skincare is still perceived as a feminine activity, Varma dismissed this notion, emphasizing that beauty is about embracing one's individuality.

Several other actors have also made their mark in the men's beauty industry through various brand endorsements. Varun Dhawan represents Pond's Men, Bobby Deol is associated with Beardo, and Garnier Men has featured campaigns with stars like John Abraham, Tiger Shroff, and more recently, Vedang Raina. This year, Ahaan Panday took a significant step by becoming Tira's first male brand ambassador, marking a milestone as the first man to lead a major Indian beauty retail platform.

Varma's candidness extends beyond his skincare routine and marketing efforts. He has openly discussed living with vitiligo, a condition that causes loss of skin pigment. In a previous interview with ETimes, he downplayed its significance in his life, viewing it as a cosmetic aspect rather than a major concern. He reflected on an earlier stage in his career when he felt anxious about the condition affecting his acting opportunities, but noted that this worry diminished as he secured consistent roles. He chooses not to cover his skin patches during public appearances, opting for concealment only when required for specific characters on screen.
