Update Your Aadhaar Mobile Number Easily with New App

Convenient Mobile Number Update via Aadhaar App

You can now effortlessly update the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar card from home. The UIDAI has introduced a new Aadhaar application that enables users to verify their Aadhaar details, modify their mobile number and address, and access various essential services. The most significant advantage is that visiting an Aadhaar center for mobile number changes is no longer necessary.

This feature is particularly beneficial for individuals who have changed their mobile numbers, have deactivated SIM cards, or have faced difficulties updating due to long waiting times. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to update your mobile number using the app.

1. Begin by downloading the latest version of the Aadhaar app on your Android or iOS device.

2. Open the app and complete the Aadhaar-based login process.

3. Navigate to the 'Services' section on the home screen and select 'Update Mobile Number'.

4. The app will show your currently registered mobile number. Enter the new mobile number you wish to link to your Aadhaar.

5. An OTP will be sent to the new number. Input that OTP in the app to verify it.

6. Follow the authentication steps as instructed in the app. Once the OTP is verified, your request will be forwarded to UIDAI.

Please note that a service fee of ₹75 is applicable for updating your mobile number or address, which can be paid directly through the app. Although the process is entirely digital, it may take up to 30 days for the changes to reflect in your Aadhaar record.

While the app allows for mobile number and address updates, certain modifications still necessitate a visit to an Aadhaar enrollment center. For instance, biometric updates such as fingerprint or iris scans and changes to the date of birth require an in-person visit.
