A Unique Take on a Historical Escape

Story TV, a prominent microdrama platform under the Eloelo Group, launched The Bose Network at the stroke of midnight on August 15. Unlike traditional biopics, this historical thriller unfolds as a relentless chase, depicting one of the most audacious escapes in Indian history — the 1941 disappearance of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose from British custody in Calcutta. The narrative follows his remarkable 9,000-kilometre journey across four nations, where he assumed multiple identities to rally an army for India's independence from British rule. Viewers have praised the series for its captivating storytelling, rich historical context, and unique visual style.

Innovative Production Techniques

The Bose Network stands out as India’s inaugural microdrama series utilizing an AI-driven production process. The series reconstructs various historical settings, including 1940s Calcutta, wartime Berlin, and the interiors of submarines, through advanced post-production techniques powered by Eloelo’s AI capabilities, achieving a scale previously unseen in this format.

An Actor's Reflection

Joy Sengupta, who portrays Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, shared his insights on embodying this iconic figure. He remarked, “Every Indian carries an image of Bose with them, the uniform, the spectacles, the voice on the radio. Growing up in a Bengali household with a father who idolized Bose, I was immersed in his legacy. As I matured, I sought to understand the complexities surrounding his life and the historical context of his decisions. My portrayal aimed to reveal the humanity behind the legend, showcasing his solitude, determination, and steadfast belief in India’s freedom during his lifetime.”

Creative Vision Behind the Series

Written and directed by Lalit Marathe, who contributed to the acclaimed film Swades (2004), The Bose Network promises to be a significant addition to Hindi cinema's portrayal of patriotic narratives.
