Tree Plantation Initiative at Modern Dental College in Indore

Celebrating National Plantation Week
Today, Modern Dental College and Research Center in Indore hosted a special tree plantation event as part of the National Plantation Week. The esteemed guest, Padma Shri Dr. Janak Palta McGilligan, known as Janak Didi, shared her inspiring journey of empowering tribal women across 500 villages over the past 40 years after relocating from Chandigarh. Through her efforts, she has become a living example of sustainable living and environmental conservation.
During her PowerPoint presentation, Dr. McGilligan recounted impactful experiences that motivated attendees. Following her talk, the tree planting commenced. Key figures at the event included the founder and president Dr. Ramesh Badlani, director Mr. Mohit Badlani, dean Dr. Amit Bhardwaj, vice-dean Dr. Suruchi Sisodia, and chief administrative officer Mr. Shailesh Bhadang, all of whom participated in planting trees, marking a significant step towards a greener future.
The event was conducted by Dr. Rahul Chhajlani, a professor in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department, who expressed gratitude to all participants, faculty members, and students for their involvement. This initiative was not merely symbolic; it represented a vibrant commitment to environmental responsibility.
Each sapling planted today conveyed the message that every individual can contribute to realizing the dream of a 'Green India, Clean India' through their small efforts.
