The highly anticipated film, The Voice of Hind Rajab, which has garnered an Oscar nomination for its poignant portrayal of the tragic death of a five-year-old Palestinian girl at the hands of Israeli forces in Gaza, has finally secured a censor certificate. This approval clears the path for its theatrical debut on June 19.

Originally slated for a March release in India, the film faced delays due to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the authority responsible for approving films for public screening.

Having received a nomination for Best International Film at the 98th Academy Awards, the movie is set to be distributed in India, as well as in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh by Manoj Nandwana of Jai Viratra Entertainment Limited.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Nandwana expressed gratitude to the CBFC for granting certification without requiring any cuts to the film, allowing Indian audiences to experience this significant cinematic piece.

He stated, “At Jai Viratra Entertainment Limited, we believe that cinema is a vital medium for storytelling, fostering dialogue, and understanding diverse human experiences. We appreciate the careful consideration shown by the CBFC in reviewing the film and facilitating its release in India.”

Directed by Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania, the film highlights the heartbreaking narrative of Hind Rajab, whose death during the Israel-Gaza conflict ignited global outrage.

Nandwana further remarked, “The Voice of Hind Rajab is a profoundly impactful story that illustrates the human toll of conflict and the resilience of the human spirit. We aspire for the film to inspire empathy, understanding, and meaningful discussions among viewers. It will be released in cinemas on June 19, 2026.”
