A Night of Glamour at India Couture Week

The prestigious India Couture Week 2025 kicked off at the Taj Palace hotel, with Bollywood star Tamannaah Bhatia taking center stage as the showstopper for acclaimed designer Rahul Mishra. This event, sponsored by Hyundai India in partnership with Reliance Brands, showcased Mishra’s latest collection titled Becoming Love, which builds upon his previous presentation at Paris Haute Couture Week.

While the Paris showcase delved into themes of love through a cosmic and philosophical lens, drawing inspiration from Sufi mysticism and the works of Gustav Klimt, the collection at ICW shifted to a more intimate and emotional narrative. Mishra referred to this collection as the “second chapter” of a transformative love story, depicting love as a timeless and evolving entity. The designs featured a mix of sheer and structured fabrics adorned with vibrant floral embroidery, 3D floral details, and a color palette that transitioned from soft pastels to rich jewel tones.

Tamannaah made a striking impression on the runway with two exquisite outfits. Her first look was a form-fitting gown showcasing a sculpted bodice embellished with intricate floral designs in bright colors. She later appeared in a stunning lehenga ensemble, which included a sequined halter neck blouse, a gradient-embroidered lehenga, and a sheer dupatta adorned with floral accents. Her initial entrance was accompanied by the iconic track Tu Hi Re by AR Rahman.

In her praise for Mishra, Tamannaah noted that his creations accentuate the wearer rather than overshadow them. She expressed her passion for live performances, describing the runway experience as exhilarating yet distinct from her roles in acting and dancing.

The India Couture Week 2025 is set to continue until July 30.
