On the day of the fast, rise early during Brahma Muhurta and take a bath. Don yellow attire and make a vow to fast while holding water in your hand. Set up an idol of Lord Vishnu and bathe it with Panchamrit, which is a blend of milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugar. Present yellow garments, yellow flowers, Tulsi leaves, rice, incense, and a lamp to the deity. Additionally, offer yellow sweets and fruits to Lord Vishnu, ensuring that Tulsi leaves are included in the offerings.

Special Offerings and Prayers

Those wishing for children should particularly offer Panchamrit to the Lord. During the puja, chant the mantra "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya" 108 times. It is also customary to recite the Putrada Ekadashi Vrat Katha (the story associated with the fast). Conclude the rituals with Aarti and seek forgiveness for any errors made during the puja. The following day, it is recommended to feed a Brahmin or a needy person and make donations at an auspicious time before breaking the fast.
