Saqib Saleem's Dramatic Transformation for Kaptaan

Saqib Saleem has launched a new series called Kaptaan, where he portrays a police officer. To authentically represent his character, he underwent a significant physical transformation, losing around 6-7 kg.

“I had to undergo a substantial weight loss. My previous roles didn’t require much physical adjustment, but this one demanded a tight uniform. Thus, I began an intense workout regimen. It was quite a journey, and I dedicated myself to it,” Saqib explained. “In just 45 days, I managed to shed about 6-7 kg,” he added.

In addition to his physical preparation, Saqib employs a unique method for character development. He records extensive voice notes detailing his character's backstory.

“I’ve started this practice, and I’m not sure how long I’ll keep it up. However, I create a voice note that lasts about 8-10 minutes, capturing my character's background. When I arrive on set, I listen to it through my headphones,” Saqib shared.

In Kaptaan, Saqib plays SSP Samardeep, a renowned officer recognized for his unconventional tactics. Siddharth Nigam portrays Kabir, a volatile character whose troubled past influences his behavior. The cast also includes Kavita Kaushik, Varun Badola, Anjumm Sharma, Aarif Zakaria, Poojaa Gor, Vikram Kochhar, and Anushka Kaushik. The series is available for streaming on Amazon MX Player.
