Rajpal Yadav Faces Auction of Properties Due to Loan Default

Rajpal Yadav's Financial Woes Intensify

Rajpal Yadav is currently grappling with significant financial issues as the Central Bank of India has commenced auction proceedings for two of his properties located in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. This action is a result of an unpaid loan amounting to Rs 16.61 crore and an additional Rs 64,000. The online auction is set to take place on September 9.

The properties in question, one situated in Shahjahanpur city and the other in a nearby village, are collectively valued at around Rs 3.19 crore, which is only a small portion of the total debt owed. Complicating matters further, the bank is also scrutinizing properties owned by his wife, Radha Yadav, and his mother, Godavari Yadav, who acted as guarantors for the loan. Additionally, there are reports indicating that auction proceedings for some of Yadav's properties in Mumbai may also be in progress, although this has not been officially confirmed.

The loan dates back to 2010 when Yadav secured funds to produce his directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata. Unfortunately, the film did not perform well at the box office, leading to bounced repayment cheques and subsequent legal issues. In July 2026, the Delhi High Court upheld his conviction in seven cheque bounce cases, reducing his sentence from six months to three months and imposing financial penalties.

As of now, Yadav has not made any public comments regarding the auction notices. On the professional front, he was recently featured in Welcome to the Jungle and is slated to appear in Priyadarshan's upcoming film Haiwaan, alongside Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan.
