Delicious Festive Recipes for Gudi Padwa and Eid

Festive Delights: March 2026 brings a unique celebration as Gudi Padwa and Eid coincide, offering a wonderful opportunity to indulge in festive flavors. Instead of laboring over complex dishes, you can prepare these delightful recipes in just 10 minutes, allowing you to enjoy the festivities without the stress of extensive cooking. Here are some quick and easy recipes perfect for both occasions.

Potazos Masala Corn Canapés: Start by taking a microwave-safe bowl. Combine 1 cup of sweet corn, 1 tablespoon of finely diced onion, 1 tablespoon of chopped bell pepper, 1 teaspoon of finely chopped green chilies (adjust to taste), a few drops of lemon juice, chopped coriander, ½ teaspoon of salt (to taste), ⅓ teaspoon each of red chili powder and black pepper, 1 tablespoon of grated cheese, and ¼ cup of milk. Mix thoroughly and microwave for 1 minute or until the cheese melts. For assembly, place Britannia 50-50 Potazos on a plate, top with the corn mixture, and serve right away.

Sabudana Tikki Cups: Gather 1 cup of soaked sago (sabudana), 2 boiled and mashed potatoes, ¼ cup of roasted peanuts, 1 finely chopped green chili, 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds, salt to taste, chopped coriander, and ½ cup of thick yogurt. Combine the sago, potatoes, peanuts, cumin seeds, green chili, coriander, and salt. Form the mixture into small cup shapes and place them in a greased mold. Grill or microwave until crispy outside and soft inside. Fill with chilled yogurt, garnish, and serve.

Millet Kesari (Special for Gudi Padwa): Ingredients include ½ cup millet, 1 cup sugar, 1½–2 cups water, ½ teaspoon cardamom powder, 3 tablespoons ghee, 2 tablespoons cashews, 2 tablespoons raisins, and a pinch of food coloring (optional). Roast the millet, let it cool, and grind it to a semolina-like texture. Roast the cashews and raisins separately. Cook the millet in hot water until soft, then add sugar and mix well. Incorporate ghee, cardamom powder, and food coloring (if desired), cooking until thickened. Stir in the dried fruits and serve warm.

Biscotti Rabri Fusion (Eid Special): For this dish, you will need biscotti sticks, 2 cups of thickened milk (sweetened with jaggery or honey), and cardamom powder. Prepare the thickened milk (Rabri) and mix in the cardamom powder. Serve hot alongside the biscotti sticks for dipping and enjoyment.
