Natti Natasha Calls for Urgent Humanitarian Aid for Venezuela Earthquake Victims
Natti Natasha's Plea for Support
Dominican artist Natti Natasha has made a heartfelt request for humanitarian assistance following the catastrophic earthquakes that struck Venezuela. She is urging her followers to contribute to relief efforts as rescue missions are underway throughout the nation.
On Saturday, the singer took to her official X account to rally support for those impacted by the calamity.
“Venezuela needs all of us today,” she expressed, inviting her audience to participate in this vital cause. “Every donation, regardless of size, can significantly impact a family that has lost everything,” she emphasized. Highlighting the importance of unity during this humanitarian crisis, Natti Natasha remarked, “We Latinos have always shown that when one of our own is in need, we come together.” She also noted that the act of helping transcends borders, stating, “Helping knows no nationality; it comes from the heart.” The singer directed her supporters to a GoFundMe campaign organized by the I Love Venezuela Foundation, labeling it a “trustworthy and secure way to contribute.” Her message has garnered considerable attention on social media, with users sharing live updates and calls for help from affected regions.
Reports have surfaced from residents in areas like La Guaira, where individuals are seeking assistance via social media.
In her closing remarks, Natti Natasha encouraged everyone to keep raising awareness and supporting relief initiatives.
“Please share this message, donate if you can, and let’s extend our solidarity even further,” she urged.
The international response to the humanitarian crisis is growing. On Friday, US Department of State spokesperson Tommy Piggott announced that the United States is actively involved in Venezuela, aiding search and rescue operations while delivering humanitarian and medical supplies.
Major General Kevin J. Jarrard from US Southern Command and Charge d’Affaires John M. Barrett met with President Delcy Rodriguez and other high-ranking officials to coordinate relief efforts.
The US Embassy in Caracas reported that the first air shipment of equipment has arrived to support two specialized US search and rescue teams. These teams, consisting of nearly 80 professionals, including firefighters, doctors, structural engineers, and 12 trained search dogs, are being deployed to assist in the most severely affected areas as conditions allow.
In a separate development, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo spoke with Interim President Delcy Rodriguez to express condolences to the earthquake victims.
The response to the disaster is ongoing as seismic activity continues. A magnitude 4.9 earthquake was recorded off Venezuela’s northern coast on Friday, as reported by Al Jazeera.
This tremor occurred just days after two significant earthquakes hit the country on Wednesday evening, resulting in at least 920 fatalities and extensive destruction in parts of Caracas.
